Ages 5–16

Fun, inclusive athletics coaching for children and young people, built around the fundamentals of running, jumping and throwing — helping every child grow in confidence, fitness and movement skills from day one.

Sessions take place at Everyone Active Bracknell Leisure Centre, offering structured, engaging training for both beginners and aspiring young athletes.

“The coaching team is doing a fantastic job introducing young people to athletics in a positive way — combining great coaching, supportive environments, and strong fundamentals. Whether children want to compete or simply stay active, this programme gives them a brilliant foundation for sport.”

— Daley Thompson CBE, Double Olympic Champion & ATG Ambassador

Why Athletics?

Want your child to run faster, jump further, and throw stronger?

Athletics forms the foundation of every sport — developing speed, coordination, strength and movement skills that help children excel across football, rugby, netball, hockey and beyond.

Our programme focuses on building confident movers first, giving children the physical tools they need to succeed in sport — and in life.

What We Offer

🏃‍♀️ Weekly Athletics Training

Choose from two weekly sessions led by experienced coaches, helping children improve speed, agility, balance, coordination and overall fitness. Sessions are suitable for complete beginners through to developing athletes.

🏅 Friendly, Inclusive Competitions

We offer relaxed competitions throughout the year, giving children the chance to race, jump and throw with teammates in a supportive environment. Compete if you’d like — or simply come along for fun.

☀️ Holiday Camps & Training Weeks

During school holidays we run popular athletics camps packed with skill development, fitness and games. In 2026, international training camps will also be available in St Lucia and La Manga, Spain — combining sunshine, sport and unforgettable experiences.

We work closely with Bracknell Athletics Club, offering a pathway for children who wish to take their training further.  From around age 12, athletes can feed into club athletics while continuing to train with us weekly for additional technical support and confidence.

Sessions

In our sessions we aim, over the term, to ensure the children have had the opportunity to try a range of athletics disciplines focussing on agility, balance & co-ordination in a fun and supportive environment. In addition if the local schools are attending activities such as cross country, sportshall, quad kids and district athletics we help prepare them for these in our sessions too.

A session always starts with a game, a lap around the 400m track and athletic warm up drills. The session will then either focus on sprinting, endurance, jumping or throwing. We also try to incorporate agility and strength exercises into the sessions. Our sessions finish either with a lap around the track or a team relay followed by some stretching.

Coaches

Our lead coach is Pippa who is an experienced athletics coach.

Do you compete during the year?

Yes! We are currently working towards our Summer Greatest Games Championship, where all Aspire to Greatness clubs will come together for a fun and competitive celebration of athletics. In the meantime, we will also be organising friendly competitions between clubs to give children the opportunity to test their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship

Pathway to competitive athletics
