ATG Track and Tri Running Club
On the Track at Chichester University
Welcome to our Junior ATG Club on the athletics track at Chichester University – a stunning location and home to our vibrant grassroots programme for children aged 5–11.
As the official pathway to Chichester Athletics Club, our academy helps children develop the core skills of running, jumping, and throwing – building strong foundations in athletic performance, confidence, and teamwork.
Led by our expert team, including Matt Jolly – Level 2 Triathlon Coach and Personal Trainer, children will enjoy fun, energetic sessions that focus on multi-skills, fitness, and social connection. They’ll also have opportunities to take part in exciting mini triathlon events throughout the year.
Whether your child is just starting out or looking to level up their athletic journey, this is the perfect place to grow, thrive, and shine.

For safeguarding purposes children under 11 will need an adult on site during the session.
Can I watch my child?
There is a viewing area in the stand.
What does my child need to wear?
Comfortable sports clothing, tshirt, hoodie, joggers, shorts or leggings. We recommend trainers rather than plimsols. You don’t need running spikes.

Sessions
In our sessions we aim, over the term, to ensure the children have had the opportunity to try a range of athletics disciplines focussing on agility, balance & co-ordination in a fun and supportive environment. In addition if the local schools are attending activities such as cross country, sportshall, quad kids and district athletics we help prepare them for these in our sessions too.
A session always starts with a game, a lap around the 400m track and athletic warm up drills. The session will then either focus on sprinting, endurance, jumping or throwing. We also try to incorporate agility and strength exercises into the sessions. Our sessions finish either with a lap around the track or a team relay followed by some stretching.
Do you compete during the year?
Yes! We are currently working towards our Summer Greatest Games Championship, where all Aspire to Greatness clubs will come together for a fun and competitive celebration of athletics. In the meantime, we will also be organising friendly competitions between clubs to give children the opportunity to test their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship
